How to Help
Cats come into the Barn Cat placement program that are already
sterilized and have had shots. Our costs are connected with housing before and during the
relocation period, with gasoline to transport to the barn site, and with vehicle maintenance
and repair. We can always use donations of cat food and litter.
Housing before and during relocation:
- Dry cat food
- Litter (by the ton!)
- Feeders
- Waterers
Gasoline – We have traveled up to 184 miles round trip to place cats!
In several weeks, we will have to return over the same 184 miles to pick up our equipment
after the cats are released.
Vehicle maintenance and repair:
- Oil changes
- Inspections
- “Animal Friendly” License plates
- Etc.
Help is also needed to find loving, in-door homes for the “friendly” cats that sometimes
get into the Barn Cat program. We often will make a trade for a feral cat that has gotten into a group’s adoption program.
Feral Friends Animal Rescue, the Humane Society of Lewisville, and Operation Kindness have all taken some of these
cats into their adoption programs. THANKS!
